What Will Be Happening In The Short Term Rental Market
Application period for short term rental licenses is now open.
Under newly enacted law, anyone in the city of San Diego listing a residential property for short term rent must register for a license.
The Tier 3 & Tier 4 license application period will close on November 30, 2022. The Tier 1 and Tier 2 license application period will remain open indefinitely. Tier 3 & Tier 4 applications will be entered into the lottery once the application period closes. If you don't live in the airbnb, you have to be entered into the lottery. There are currently over 8000 airbnbs which will be cut in half after lottery.
THE CITY OF SAN DIEGO STRO IMPLEMENTATION TIME LINE
Hosts that are selected in the lottery and do not pay their license fee by Friday, Jan. 6, 2023, will lose their lottery status and the STRO license application with be canceled.
